How can a canadian live in the states without losing thier canadian citizenship?
My boyfriend is Canadian. He wants to live here in the states with me but hes very afraid of giving up his citizenship. Mainly his healthcare. Is there any way he can be with me and still be able to keep it?

- dont take the citizenship test.
- He can live as US Permanent Residet, not becoming a US Citizen. http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/types/types_1326.html
- I know some people with dual-citizenship specifically my Polish friend who is both a citizen of the states and of Poland. I would recommend looking into that. :)
- He can keep his citizenship, that is not a problem he won't lose it. But his health care is a different issue and that depends on the rules of the province that he is covered by, so he would have to check their rules. For Ontario, no he can't live in the US and be covered by OHIP. He can spend up to 180 days a year outside of the province and still be covered while he is in the province (and has proof of residence). He will have to pay for insurance to cover him while he is in the US.
